Lucknow : In a transformative leap towards future-ready education, Astro Labs are being established across government schools in Uttar Pradesh at the block level under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, fulfilling Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of nurturing young space scientists.
Designed to encourage experiential and inquiry-based learning, these state-of-the-art labs are now operational in several districts. Equipped with Dobsonian telescopes, PR headsets, microscopes, and human anatomy models, students are exploring the mysteries of space, light, and gravity—not just from textbooks but through hands-on experiments and observation.
According to official sources, CM Yogi is focused on delivering high-quality, tech-driven education to every child in the state, especially in rural areas. These Astro Labs, now rebranded as Amrit Kaal Learning Centres, are integral to that mission, offering young minds exposure to advanced scientific tools and concepts.
In Ballia district, all 17 blocks now boast fully functional science and astronomy labs. District Magistrate Mangala Prasad confirmed that the initiative is aimed at cultivating a scientific temperament among students. Chief Development Officer Ojaswi Raj shared that each lab has been developed at a cost of ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh, which includes both equipment procurement and teacher training.

The labs offer more than just tools—they provide teachers with orientation programs, video guides, and mentorship opportunities, enabling them to engage with students more effectively on complex topics.
“The impact is visible,” said CDO Raj. “Children are now curious, asking questions, gazing at the sky with wonder, and expressing a strong desire to learn about the universe.”
By integrating modern science into rural education, the Uttar Pradesh government is laying the foundation for a generation of innovators, thinkers, and possibly the nation’s future space explorers.
